Already Read It! : A "Novel" Game 25

Can you guess the title and author of the novel depicted in the picture?

DIFFICULTY : Hard

CLUE : A collection of essays and lectures delivered from a singular compartment all her "own".

Even though most writers claim to not insert their own world views and perceptions into their characters, because characters must have minds of their own, I believe it is impossible to not impart a smidgen of your own thoughts into something you create with your own mind. So with this belief, every novel I read I feel I am looking through a window, a dirty window maybe, of the author's mind and its thoughts, but I will also admit this view is not a clear view of these thoughts, so I always find it interesting to read the direct thoughts of an author I admire. This is an interesting essay on the male's role in literature creation compared to the females limitations of the time. With the use of interesting and lengthy metaphors, this author delivers much to be evaluated, even in our own time and world as we know it now.
