“You know, one of the tragedies of real life is that there is no background music.”
~ Annie Proulx
This quotation hits home. It's strikes me with an utter sense of lacking because it is something I have always dreamed about (even though I am sure it would get annoying after the first year or so), and I have admitted this to numerous people throughout my life time: I wish my life was a musical. Can you imagine?
Picture this: you are struggling with life, a romantic partner left you or is going through their own rough patch, you are feeling underappreciated, or you just cannot see why you should not feel sorry for yourself...when, whoosh! The person in the next car starts whispering the narration of what you are going through in poetry form, getting louder and louder until someone from two spots over joins, as the melody continues to grow, becoming faster and faster and more upbeat and suddenly everyone around you is singing, dancing on cars, flipping each other in the air, all in support of you, your problems, your sour outlook, pushing, forcing you into a state of perpetual motivation to make it through your day, your moment of utter sadness...wouldn't this be beautiful?
