Already Read It! : A "Novel" Game 42

Can you guess the title and author of the novel depicted in the picture?

DIFFICULTY : Medium

CLUE : "Call" me if you have owned a dog that would fight bears to save your life.

If you have not read this novel, I strongly suggest you find a copy and read it today (once of course, you figure out which novel the game is referring to). Yes, today. It is a really short novel and is so good, you will not want to put it down. How this author creates a believable and engaging non-human main character is a testament to his pure writing skill and story-telling ability. Don't believe me how good this novel is? Well, just read the first chapter, only the one, and then try and tell me you do not get caught up in the drama and toils of this beautiful and formidable beast of a creature.
