Already Read It! : A "Novel" Game 39

Can you guess the title and author of the novel depicted in the picture?

DIFFICULTY : Medium

CLUE : Remember, if you choose to "scout" this winged creature, don't get caught yelling "Boo"!

I cannot imagine the author of this novel ever expected (hoped, probably, like most authors) this work to become such a timeless piece of literature as it has, such an intricate and essential part of American culture and study, when the words began to flow and appear on the page. Even though it was written in a way different time, which seems so far away and almost unbelievable considering our modern society, its story, characters, themes, and messages are still extremely relevent and entertaining as they were when it was first published. Even the movie, the black and white classic movie, made from this story still holds up in this day and age, most likely and simply because of the powerful qualities of this tale. One of the most banned novels of our time, mainly for its language use, we must never forget or lose this work in a pile of dusty books, because the simple fact it makes us uncomfortable, makes us squirm in our seats as we turn every page, is exactly why it must remain a cultural, literary, and educational staple.
