Already Read It! : A "Novel" Game 40

Can you guess the title and author of the novel depicted in the picture?

DIFFICULTY : Medium

CLUE : This play depicts the point in time when black men stopped taking relationship advice from white men.

This is another one of the greatest writer of all-time's plays where I enjoyed the antagonist more than the protagonists, even feeling pity for the silver-tongued rogue...at times. I wrote a paper in high school detailing as such, and I would have loved to know what my teacher actually thought about it, and me for that matter, when he read it. Had he ever had anyone side with the vilain of this work? I will never know what he truly thought about it, or me, but I did receive a high mark for my efforts.
